One of the easiest ways to add a pop of color to your home exterior is to paint your front door. I am about to change the color of my front door from bronze to RED - but I still haven't pulled the paint brush out yet! I am a little nervous... so to give me a boost of confidence and make sure I am painting my door the best color, I am sharing different door colors with you today and hopefully it will give you some painting ideas too!
I love love this one, I mean really, what is not to love about this deep rich color. It is similar to Sherwin Williams Oceanside (2018 color of the year) and Benjamin Moore Hidden Sapphire. I also see this color being similar to Homestead Blue Fusion Mineral paint with a black glaze over the top. Just the color I will be painting my son's side table this week.
Black is classic and it almost always works. Especially when it is painted in a high gloss paint. Sherwin Williams Tricorn Black is a very popular color for black, as is Black Beauty from Benjamin Moore.
Navy. Navy. Navy, everyone loves it! It looks wonderful with brick and can create a nice color entry to a home. Hale Navy is a dark classic navy you can't go wrong with.
Green is perfect for spring front doors, I see this color being in a french country home surrounded by lavender and teal... oh, just like this beautiful entry photo above! What a beautiful door and color, who would have thought a color named dill would be so beautiful!
Wedgewood gray, one of my favorite colors (it's in my bedroom!). It is a soothing gray / green color that transports you back to the beach. Pair it with white and navy shake siding- Perfect!
How fun is this coral front door? Coral Reef from Sherwin Williams , a color that transports you to the ocean. It looks great on a front door to create a playful entry way.
Red is a bold yet classic front door. It grabs your eye and says WELCOME HOME! A really nice color with a white and black house, but really goes well with a lot of homes.
Last but not least is yellow. I love yellow and I keep going back to yellow from the red for my front door. Look how great it looks hear with the gray paint! Such a fun happy color, who wouldn't feel welcomed here?
So that rounds up my selection of best front door colors, Colors that will pop and welcome guests and have the neighbors wanting to say hi. Of course there are many other colors but these are colors I have recommended to clients in the past and if they work with your siding and fixed elements of your home they can add personality to your home. Now run, don't walk to your paint store and grab one of these beauties to update your front door, and I'll share mine when I paint it too!
